The battery compartment is sealed with a silicone casing to make the device water-resistant, and can sometimes be a little tricky to pop out. First, unlock the compartment by shifting the buckle from 12pm to 3pm position. Next, pry open the cover with a dull butter knife. This should help release the air pressure, and the cover should pop off easily!
